Coating & Lining Technician
- Hourly Rate: $16 - $19/hr (negotiable with experience)

- Set Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm

Arbonite is looking to hire Coating & Lining Technicians with experience with metal surface preparation and skills in the following applications: Spray applied coatings (polyurethane, epoxy & PVC), and rubber lining application. No Experience? Don't panic we will teach you everything you need to know to become an expert applicator of corrosion resistant coatings & linings! WE CREATE TECHNICIANS!

Roles and Responsibilities:
Successfully complete job-specific training and master the role to which you've been initially assigned -- surface preparation, spray coating or rubber lining application
- Surface preparation includes, but is not limited to:
- Identification of surfaces to be prepared and protection (masking) of surfaces that are to be left uncoated
- Lining removal, pressure washing, solvent wiping, grinding, and abrasive blasting
- Material handling
- Basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Quality assurance
- Spray coating application includes:
- Application of solvent-borne materials such as inorganic zincs, epoxies, polyurethanes, baked phenolics, and vinyl esters
- Application of solvent-free materials such as 100%-solids epoxies and plastisols
- Basic knowledge of both airless and conventional spray systems, as well as routine cleaning procedures and maintenance of the same
- Quality assurance
- Rubber lining includes:
- Application of multi-coat adhesive systems
- Cutting of rubber sheet using templates
- The layout of tanks and application of rubber sheet lining to tank interiors and small parts (valves, piping)
- Finishing of lined parts (trimming, grinding, sanding)
- Quality assurance
- Achieve a thorough and complete level of understanding of the Company's safety policies and/or OSHA safety standards through introductory and continuing education safety training programs
- Exceed all Company/Customer Quality Assurance standards for surface preparation, spray coating application, and rubber lining

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or educational equivalent (GED) preferred
- Experience using power tools is preferred
- Forklift experience preferred, but not required
- Must work well in a team environment, as well as independently
- Ability to meet or exceed the Company's attendance and punctuality standards
- Reliable transportation is required
- Possess good problem-solving skills
- Must be professional and have a good work ethic
- Must be well-organized and maintain good housekeeping in production areas
Physical Demands
- Lifting required (5-50 lbs.)
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work in confined spaces without claustrophobia
- Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, standing for prolonged periods and walking as the job requires
Environmental conditions

- Noise level, which may at times require hearing protection (earplugs or other means)
